A winter hike on the Kunstmeile Poppenhausen - the perfect combination of views, culture and hiking pleasure. There are two popular places to stop for refreshments on the way, where you can recover from the winter temperatures and have a warm drink or a meal.

Turn-by-turn directions

The route starts at the Fuldaer Haus on the Maulkuppe, continues via Eselsbrunn and leads along various sculptures to the Grabenhöfchen.

Public transport

On the winter hiking trail there is a bus stop at the start / end point Grabenhöfchen. The following bus lines of the LNG Fulda stop at the bus stop:
  • Line 30: Wüstensachsen - Hilders - Eckweisbach - Dipperz - Fulda
  • Line 32: (Tann -) Simmershausen - Hilders - Reulbach - Fulda

By road

The winter hiking trail can be approached via the A7. You leave the autobahn at exit 92 Fulda-Mitte. Then you drive on the B458 in the direction of Hilders. The first parking space is at Grabenhöfchen. This is located just a few kilometers after the crossroads to Steinwand on a ridge, or you can turn off at the crossroads towards Steinwand. Then follow the signs to the Maulkuppe hiking car park.
