We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. Of course, the same applies to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, nature sports should therefore only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.

Tips and hints

• The amount of snow can be estimated with the help of the webcam on the Black Moor.
• The snow hotline provides information about the winter conditions in the Rhön.
• Good to know: The nature trail through the Black Moor and the observation tower are closed in the winter months.

Getting there

Um die Einstiegsmöglichkeit zwischen Birx und Frankenheim zu erreichen, auf der A71 bis Bad Neustadt an der Saale fahren. Anschließend bei der Ausfahrt 25 Bad Neustadt an der Saale auf die B279 in Richtung Bad Neustadt/Bischofsheim abfahren und der B279 in Richtung Bischofsheim folgen. Bei der Ausfahrt in Richtung Ehrenberg auf die B278 abbiegen und der Straße nach Seiferts folgen. Dort in Richtung Birxstraße abbiegen und der Straße drei Kilometer bis nach Birx folgen. Entlang der Hauptstraße das Dorf verlassen und nach etwa einem Kilometer befindet sich auf rechter Seite die Parkmöglichkeit.

Die Parkmöglichkeit zwischen Frankenheim und Birx bietet Platz für etwa 5 PKW. (GoogleMaps)
