Along the Rhönstraße we bike past the engagement temple to the little water house and cross into the Schwarzbachtal. The trail climbs steadily alongside the Schwarzbach and leads to the Teufelsmühle with its legend, a fabulous place to linger. Via the Holzberghof  you reach the Rhön plateau.

The route runs along the edge of the Oberen Weide, which is located below the Große Dalle, with many views. A short, rooty trail takes us to the basalt quarry on the Bauersberg and thus to the Rothsee and the brown coal mines, which are well worth seeing. Via the holiday settlement at Ebertsholz you rush back to Böschem market square.

Safety information

The tourist paths of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, horse riders, cross-country skiers, etc.).

We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. Of course, the same applies to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, nature sports should therefore only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.

  • In the Rhön, the paths are shared. With mutual consideration, nobody has to get angry.
  • Trails and paths are the best. Across the meadow - you can't do it!
  • Take the memory with you and your garbage!
  • Never drive faster than you can stop.
  • At night (and in winter) the forest belongs to the animals.

We recommend that you only ride the mountain bike circuits in the summer season (May-October).
