We start the Frauenroth tour with its monastery church and drive from there to Burkardroth, the core town of the municipality of the same name.

Then we follow the path west through forests and meadows. Shortly before the village of Platz, the circular route turns south and reaches the Thulba valley. Continuing the course of the Thulba we reach Hassenbach. Here is a natural swimming area that can be used to cool off during the mountain bike tour.

On the next section of the tour you cross a long valley and drive into a quiet forest area. Here you drive directly past the Klaushof wildlife park. A detour to the local animals or to stop off is worthwhile. The round tour now continues via Stralsbach back to the starting point in Frauenroth.

Author’s recommendation

There is a monastery church in Frauenroth that dates from the 13th century. It can also be worth a visit on a mountain bike tour.

Safety information

The touristic paths of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, riders, cross-country skiers, etc.)

We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. The same applies of course to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, therefore, nature sports should only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.

  • In the Rhön, the paths are shared. If there is mutual consideration, nobody has to be angry.
  • Trails and paths are best for driving. Across the meadow - don't do it!
  • Take the memory with you and your trash!
  • Never drive faster than you can stop.
  • At night (and in winter) the forest belongs to the animals.

We recommend that you only ride the mountainbike trails in the summer season (May-October).
