On this circular route you can not only discover the wonderful forests in the southeast of Bad Kissingen, but also marvel at the size of dinosaurs and come to rest on the "path of reflection".

The starting point of the 13.6 km long hike is the Menzel footbridge in the southern Luitpoldpark. From here it goes first up into the forest and past the rock formations of the Wichtelhöhlen to the impressive dinosaur trunk. It gives an idea of the true size of the dinosaurs. Going out of town you will pass Bad Kissingen's popular golf club (Attention golf balls! Please ensure your own safety.)

In the tranquility of the forest lies the Hurlacher See and invites you to rest before you reach the Aura church ruins at the edge of the forest. It is one of the oldest building ruins in Germany, and here you can enjoy a fantastic, wide panoramic view of the Saale valley!

The path leads you through the forest back towards Bad Kissingen, past the idyllic Kolping Chapel and various art objects on the edge of the forest on the "Path of Reflection".

Safety information

The tourist routes of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, riders, cross-country skiers, etc.)

We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. The same applies, of course, to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, therefore, nature sports should only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
