This tour, which is not very easy in terms of fitness, takes you up the Scheinberg to the Wittelsbacher Tower, where you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Bad Kissingen and its surroundings.

On this 12.4 km long circular route you leave the hustle and bustle of Bad Kissingen behind you and hike south to the Wittelsbacher Tower.

The tour starts at the arcade bridge. From here it goes along the avenues of the Lutipold Park and across the meadows and fields of the Arnshausen district to the 400 m high Scheinberg with the Wittelsbacher tower. The ascent leads through a refreshing beech forest. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a great view over Bad Kissingen and the hilly surrounding area.

It is worth taking a break in the brewery with Franconian cuisine and home-made Wittelsbacher Turm brewery.

Along the way back to Bad Kissingen, an early medieval highlight is hidden in the Forest: The Eiringsburg ruins from the 9th century.

Author’s recommendation

A detour to the Luitpoldpark is worthwhile: Here you will find a barefoot maze, a sound garden, a Mediterranean Kneipp facility and the fitness station "The Five Kissinger".

Safety information

The tourist routes of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, riders, cross-country skiers, etc.)

We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. The same applies, of course, to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, therefore, nature sports should only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
