At the end of the 19th century, the Empress took a brisk walk up here every day during her regular spa stays. A memorial was erected to her on the Altenberg in 1907. After a short ascent, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view over Bad Kissingen and the wooded hills of the surrounding area. Enjoy this view. The tour then leads back down to Luitpoldpark and to the starting point in the spa garden.

Author’s recommendation

On the Altenberg, keep an eye out for the creative carvings in tree stumps along the way.

Safety information

The tourist routes of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, riders, cross-country skiers, etc.)

We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. The same applies, of course, to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, therefore, nature sports should only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.

Wunderschöne kleine Tour. Nur die Ausschilderung: Weniger ist nicht mehr! Etwas mehr täte der Strecke richtig gut.
