Distance 9 km
On the Hüppberg, this hiking trail leads through a wonderful beech forest - flooded with light in spring and shade in summer. Lean lime lawns on the Dünsberg, gems for orchids and butterflies, characterize the landscape west of Oberelsbach. Along the way, the “Gänsebrunnen” with a pond and seating area invites you to linger. Changing views of the surrounding Rhön Mountains and villages, together with the beautiful landscape, characterize this eventful circular hiking trail. A visit to the Rhön Biosphere Center "Haus der Langen Rhön" with its interactive exhibition about the Rhön Biosphere Reserve in Oberelsbach is also worthwhile. There are excellent restaurants in Oberelsbach and Ginolfs.
Author’s recommendation
Those who come to the Rhön in October can watch the traditional Ginolfs pasture drive. The pasture festival also invites you to socialize.

Safety information
The tourist routes of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, riders, cross-country skiers, etc.)We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. The same applies of course to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, therefore, nature sports should only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
