The circular hike runs through the Brand Valley and to the remains of Eberstein Castle, of which the foundation walls can still be seen.

Past the church to the fountain - via Ehrenbergstraße on a cycle and hiking trail to Brand - at the sports field on the right and past the village community center - before the fish ponds at the ford of the Schlichtwasser cross - ascending over meadows and field paths to Dietges - after the church and bridge on the right to the Tannenfels (former castle of the Ebersteiner) - you come back to your starting point via the Wickerser Hute.

The Hilderser district of Wickers can be reached by public transport. The following LNG Fulda bus line runs from the bus stop there:
  • Line 32: (Tann-) Simmershausen - Hilders - Reulbach - Fulda

Getting there

Hilders can be reached by car via the A7. Leave the autobahn at exit 92 Fulda-Mitte. Then drive onto the B458 in the direction of Hilders. After Wickers, turn right a few kilometers later and in town again onto Hauckstrasse. There are plenty of opportunities to park the car for the hike in the vicinity of the church.
