This path leads past the Mariengrotte in Thaiden. This type of Mariengrotten has a long tradition in the predominantly Catholic Rhön. Many of them were modeled on the grotto in the pilgrimage site of Lourdes. It goes uphill past the meadows and fields in Rothenbachtal, before returning to the starting point via the Ulstertal cycle path.

Safety information

The tourist routes of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, riders, cross-country skiers, etc.).

We ask all active outdoor sports enthusiasts to be considerate of each other. The same applies, of course, to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, therefore, nature sports should only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
