Familienwanderweg Naturlehrpfad Ellenbogen - Oberweid - Rhön

The nature trail on the Ellenbogen is a family hiking trail with play elements close to nature. On the large spider web, children can balance on ropes and crawl like spiders. Animal lovers should definitely plan a longer stop at the animal enclosure of the Thuringian Rhönhaus. All of this runs along the “Hohe Rhön” discovery trail. Here, 16 briefly designed teaching boards provide information about the tasks of forestry. In a short journey through time you can experience how the preservation of the forest is and has been contributed to. On the way we see varied landscapes, rustic forests with moss-covered stones and springs. If you look closely, you can also discover Rhön spring snails at the “Schneckenstein”. We climb over steep pathways and cow pastures to "Noah's Segel", a tourist viewing platform with a visitor center in the middle of the biosphere reserve. At the end of the tour, we will be rewarded with an incredible panoramic view of the land of open distances.
