The Extratour Weinberg starts at the Haselsee, a local recreation area on the outskirts of Hünfeld. In addition to boat rental and a playground, there is also a Grimms Fairy Tale Trail.

From Haselsee for the hiking trail in the direction of the vineyard, the local mountain of Hünfeld and the namesake of the circular hiking trail. In the meadows along the hiking trail, rare plants grow - these include the silver thistle, several local orchids and the pasque flower.

The tour continues to the Rösberg (400 m), from which a panoramic view opens over Hünfeld and the districts of Großenbach and Kirchhasel. The path continues through the Rhön-typical grasslands and past small pines back to the starting point - the Haselsee.

Author’s recommendation

In addition to the Extratour, you can also discover the city of Hünfeld with the Konrad Zuse Museum.

Safety information

The tourist routes of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, riders, cross-country skiers, etc.).

We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. The same applies of course to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, therefore, nature sports should only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
