Rundloipe Sennhütte - Fladungen - Rhön
Cross-country skiing
The circular trail runs through largely open terrain near the Lange Rhön nature reserve.
Classic
moderate
Distance 2.6 km
The short route leads in the direction of the former German-German border and rewards you with a wonderful view over the open landscape of the Rhön. If you haven’t had enough of the snowy scenery, you can then ski the Moorschlinge circular trail opposite.
The Sennhütte inn or the nearby kiosk on the Black Moor offer warm-up options.
Author’s recommendation
The detour to the information point at the Black Moor is worth it! There you will find regional products and Rhön literature.

Snowdrifts can occur due to the tree-free environment. The tourist paths of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, horse riders, cross-country skiers, etc.).
We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to show consideration for one another. Of course, the same applies to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, nature sports should therefore only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
Tips and hints
- The amount of snow can be estimated with the help of the webcam on the Black Moor.
- The snow hotline provides information about the winter conditions in the Rhön.
- Good to know: The nature trail through the Black Moor and the observation tower are closed in the winter months.
