Distance 4.5 km
The circular tour starts at the Thüringer Hütte and leads through the snow-covered forest on the Gangolfsberg. Parts of the circular trail pass through the core zone of the UNESCO biosphere reserve Rhön.
To warm up and strengthen yourself, the Thüringer Hütte offers a variety of delicious dishes.
Author’s recommendation
The detour to the unusual St. Francis Chapel at the Thüringer Hütte is well worth it.

For safety reasons, please pay attention to the direction of travel on the on-site signs. The tourist paths of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, horse riders, cross-country skiers, etc.).
We ask everyone active nature sports enthusiasts to be considerate of one another. Of course, the same applies to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, nature sports should therefore only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
