In this round we walk around the Farnsberg between Rhön hiking huts. We enjoy views, forests and a basalt lake.

Starting from the hiking car park next to the Berghaus Rhön, we start on the circular trail in the direction of a beautiful forest area. After we have crossed this, the Würzburg house can be reached via a small detour.

The tour then continues across a beautiful meadow area before it curves back into a forest of the Black Mountains. Here we almost reach the highest point of the Farnsberg (786m). Then it's back to the Berghaus Rhön.

This tour is not accessible by public transport.

Getting there

The circular trail can be easily reached by car via the A7. Leave the autobahn at exit 95 Bad Brueckenau / Wildflecken. Then take the B286 in the direction of Bad Kissingen / Schildeck / Märzgrund. Follow this road for approx. 1.5 km and turn left in Schildeck onto Rhönstraße. At the fork in the road after about 2 km, keep straight. After 1.6 km you have reached the Berghaus Rhön and the hiking car park there.
