From the Holzberghof, the circular trail leads slowly uphill towards the Bavarian-Hessian border. The route continues uphill via the Münzkopf summit, always through a snow-covered forest landscape, back to the starting point.

About halfway along the route, there is a connection to the long-distance trail B9 in the direction of the three-country triangle.

Author’s recommendation

Be sure to plan a stop at Gasthof Jagdschloss Holzberghof! The hunting lodge is already a feast for the eyes from the outside.

The tour is not accessible by public transport.

By road

To reach the entry point at the Holzberg hiking car park, drive on the A71 to Bad Neustadt an der Saale. Then take exit 25 Bad Neustadt an der Saale onto the B279 in the direction of Bad Neustadt/Bischofsheim and follow the B279 in the direction of Bischofsheim. On the B279, turn right onto Bauersbergstrasse and follow this to Hochrhönstrasse. Continue straight ahead on the Hochrhönstraße to the entrance on the left to the destination hiking car park Holzberg.
