The easy-to-navigate trail is ideal for beginners. Along the Rhöner Winterwald, the path runs in parts parallel to the Rhöner Franziskusweg. Next to rows of trees on one side and open landscape on the other side, you pass the Altenfeld deserted village to the Rhön Park Hotel. After the round section along the open winter landscape below the Rother Kuppe, the well-known path leads us back to the starting point.
There are opportunities to stop for refreshments and to warm up in the Thüringer Hütte and in the Rother Kuppe mountain inn.

Safety information
There is a road crossing along the route. For safety reasons, please pay attention to the direction of travel on the on-site signs.
The tourist paths of the Rhön are mostly used by other active people (hikers, mountain bikers, cyclists, walkers, horse riders, cross-country skiers , etc.).
We ask all active nature sports enthusiasts to be considerate of each other. Of course, the same applies to nature - it is worth protecting. In the Rhön, nature sports should therefore only be practiced in daylight on designated paths and areas.
